Radiation therapy

Show or Hide answer How do animals tolerate the frequent anesthesias that are necessary for radiation therapy?

Modern anesthetics are very safe. For radiotherapy we only put the animals in a short and superficial anesthesia, which is normally very well tolerated. At the end of the therapy protocol (4 to 18 fractions) animals are tired but recover very quickly at home.
